Auto business unit
The Auto business unit serves global automotive customers with high demands on innovation. The central element is the Auto division of ThyssenKrupp Steel AG, which supplies four million metric tons of flat carbon steel per year to its key accounts. The Tailored Blanks operation also included in the business unit is world market leader and has an international presence. The steel service activities, currently still restricted to North America, will be expanded in the future, primarily in the Chinese growth market. The business unit also includes the two hot-dip coating plants TAGAL in China and GALMED in Spain.
The market-oriented structures of the Auto business unit have proved successful. They allow us to meet customer requirements directly and more quickly and to coordinate product development and launches more effectively.
