Overview of ThyssenKrupp Steel

Overview of ThyssenKrupp Steel

The Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel and Special Materials business units combined under the previous segment holding company ThyssenKrupp Steel AG have undergone significant restructuring in the past few years. With the portfolio consolidation completed, the core steel business was reorganized at the beginning of the 2005/2006 fiscal year with the creation of two separate Group segments. The Steel segment is focused on carbon steel flat products and the Stainless segment on stainless steel flat products and nickel alloys.

The new Steel segment is managed by ThyssenKrupp Steel AG (previously ThyssenKrupp Stahl AG) based in Duisburg. ThyssenKrupp Steel is the biggest single operating company in the segment and ranks among the world’s leading producers of high-quality flat carbon steel. Its divisions and subsidiaries are grouped according to customers and processes into four business units - Steelmaking, Industry, Auto and Processing. The attached CD contains a detailed profile of the company.
