Professional Career

Dr. Herbert Eichelkraut, born in 1956, joined Thyssen Stahl AG in 1988 as a management trainee for the production area of flat steel after becoming a Doctor of Engineering at the RWTH Aachen. In 1989 he became the factory manager, holding responsible positions within the company during the course of his subsequent career, including that of Director of Operations and Director. From October 1, 2005 to December 31, 2007 Dr. Eichelkraut was responsible as the head of a management area for production at the ThyssenKrupp Steel AG plants of Duisburg South, Duisburg-Bruckhausen, Finnentrop and Elektrostahl Bochum.

On January 1, 2008, Dr. Herbert Eichelkraut was appointed the Technical Director at Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann GmbH, in which thyssenkrupp Steel Europe has a 50 percent interest. As of May 1, 2010, he was appointed Chief Executive Officer at ThyssenKrupp CSA Siderúrgica do Atlântico in Brazil.

Since January 1, 2012, Dr. Herbert Eichelkraut has been a member of the Executive Board at thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG. He is responsible for the Production organizational unit.
