Professional Career

Dr. Heribert R. Fischer, born in 1962, began his professional career at Krupp Stahl AG in Bochum as an Operations Assistant after qualifying as a Doctor of Engineering at the Technical University of Clausthal-Zellerfeld. Subsequently he took over as the Factory Manager and Operations Manager at the Krupp Hoesch Stahl AG cold rolling mills in Bochum and Dortmund.

From 1997 to 1998 he was an Adviser on International Projects at Krupp Thyssen Stainless GmbH, Bochum. From 1998 to 2002 Dr. Fischer worked as an Engineering Manager and Director of Operations at Shanghai Krupp Stainless Co.Ltd. in Shanghai/People’s Republic of China.

After his return from China he was responsible from 2002 to 2005 for the main area of Cold Strip Mill 1 at ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG in Duisburg. From 2005 to 2007 Dr. Fischer took over the function of Director of Production Operations in Bochum. After this period Dr. Fischer was responsible from 2008 to 2010 as the Director of the Production Division in Duisburg-Bruckhausen/Duisburg South/Finnentrop/Elektroband Bochum. From 2010 to September 2011 he served as the Director of the Rolling and Coating Division in Duisburg at ThyssenKrupp Steel Europe AG, Duisburg.

As of October 1, 2011, Dr. Heribert R. Fischer was appointed a member of the Executive Board at thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG. He is responsible for the downstream area of production, covering all operations from slab to finished product.
