Responsibility & due diligence obligations in our own business area and in the global supply chain

Supply chain due diligence obligations

The responsibility and implementation of due diligence obligations to protect human rights and the environment in accordance with the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act is an integral part of the overarching sustainability strategy and goals of thyssenkrupp Rasselstein GmbH.

The new "Act on Corporate Due Diligence to Prevent Human Rights Violations in Supply Chains" (LkSG for short) came into force in Germany on January 1, 2023.

Our understanding of these due diligence obligations is enshrined in our Policy Statement and in the thyssenkrupp Code of Conduct and the thyssenkrupp Supplier Code of Conduct.

On this page you will find comprehensive information, training documents, downloads and links to the Supply Chain Due Diligence Act (LkSG) and its relevance for thyssenkrupp. All thyssenkrupp methods, processes and systems specifically designed to ensure compliance with the LkSG requirements bear the simplified term "SCA" in their names, which is short for "Supply Chain Act".

Our SCA processes will also be continuously monitored in the future and adapted as necessary.

Whistleblower system: Report a potential breach

As an internationally active corporate group with over 200 years of history, thyssenkrupp has a social responsibility. Our sustainable economic success is based on innovative strength, technological expertise, quality, and customer focus. Strict compliance with applicable rules and laws determines our responsible actions. Compliance is therefore a top priority.

This means that we are committed to good working conditions worldwide, particularly in the areas of human rights and environmental protection and demand certain principles and standards also from our suppliers and business partners in our supply chains.

Reliable information helps us to counteract breaches at an early stage and mitigate damage to our company, our employees, and our business partners. That's why we take you and your concerns seriously! The opportunity to submit information is available to all thyssenkrupp employees as well as customers, suppliers, and other third parties.

We protect the interests of whistleblowers not only by setting up a secure whistleblowing system but also by promising to treat incoming information confidentially and to protect whistleblowers acting in good faith against any disadvantages resulting from a report. You can also provide information completely anonymously, provided this is legally permissible. Further information on the whistleblowing system procedure at thyssenkrupp can be found in the Rules of procedure.

The persons entrusted with the management of the thyssenkrupp Group's whistleblowing system guarantee impartial action, are independent, are not bound by instructions, and are obliged to maintain confidentiality.

Please note: The whistleblowing system is not an emergency service! Please do not use the reporting channels of the whistleblowing system to report an immediate threat to life, limb, health or property, as the reporting channels are not designed for this. If necessary, inform the relevant authorities such as the fire department or police or the responsible internal safety department.

Violations of the law and misconduct involving a thyssenkrupp Group company can be reported - anonymously if desired - via our whistleblowing system.

Further information can be found on the page about the Whistleblowing system.
