Career
Dr. Marie Jaroni has been Chief Executive Officer of thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG since November 1, 2025.
At its meeting on October 31, 2025, the Supervisory Board of thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG appointed Marie Jaroni as CEO of the company and extended her contract by five years with effect from November 1, 2025.
She will also take over operational responsibility for production on an interim basis. In addition, she will be responsible for strategic corporate management and other functional areas. Her remit will include Upstream Operations, Downstream Operations, Technology, Environment & Maintenance, Strategic Business Development, Communications & Sustainability, and Logistics. Jaroni will also be responsible for the subsidiary Rasselstein (Packaging Steel).
She has been a member of the Executive Board of thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG since October 1, 2024. Prior to her appointment as CEO, she was Chief Sales Officer and Chief Transformation Officer (CSO & CTO) since April 1, 2025.
Jaroni has been with thyssenkrupp Steel in various roles since 2020: After her first position as Head of Strategy & Communication, she took over as Head of Decarbonization and Sustainability in June 2021, where she was responsible for leading the transformation to climate-neutral steel production. In June 2024, she joined thyssenkrupp AG as Executive Vice President Steel.
Marie Jaroni began her career at the thyssenkrupp Group in 2017 as Head of Corporate Strategy and later Head of Transformation at Industrial Solutions. Prior to that, she worked for several years as a management consultant for McKinsey & Company.
Born in 1984, Jaroni studied metallurgy and materials engineering at RWTH Aachen University, where she also completed her doctorate on the topic of raw material supply in Europe.
