Georgios Giovanakis – Head of CSO (Chief Sales Officer)

Career

Georgios Giovanakis will take over as interim CSO (Chief Sales Officer) as of November 1, 2025. He will thus be responsible for overall sales management and the quality/innovation and research division on a temporary basis. In addition, he will oversee the holistic and performance-oriented transformation of the company and be responsible for the Government & Regulatory Affairs division.

Giovanakis has been Senior Vice President Sales at thyssenkrupp Steel since April 1, 2025. Prior to that, he was CEO at thyssenkrupp Electrical Steel between 2019 and 2025. Georgios Giovanakis has more than 25 years of professional experience in the manufacturing industry and commercial vehicle business and has served as an international manager in Germany, Italy, and China as a member of the executive board. This included positions as CFO Undercarriages/Berco, CFO Acciai Speciali Terni, CFO/CEO Shanghai Krupp Stainless, and CFO/CEO Terninox SpA.

His area of responsibility also includes the subsidiary thyssenkrupp Hohenlimburg (Precision Steel) and the companies EECV, thyssenkrupp Veerhaven, and thyssenkrupp Steel Logistics.

Georgios Giovanakis, born in 1964, holds a degree in business administration and studied at the Niederrhein University of Applied Sciences.
