thyssenkrupp Steel Business Services GmbH is the shared service center of thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG. We bundle central HR and FI services, create standards, and drive forward the digitalization of group-wide processes.

Since January 1, 2019, thyssenkrupp Steel Business Services GmbH has been the segment's own shared service center for the thyssenkrupp Steel Group, based in Duisburg.

With around 275 employees, we bundle HR and FI services for Steel at the highest level – efficiently, transparently, and with reliable quality.

We see ourselves as a reliable service partner in the segment – service-oriented, digital, and future-focused. Our strength lies in our many years of experience, our team spirit, and a corporate culture that embraces diversity and equality.

HR department

The HR department, with around 190 employees, is the central HR Shared Service Center for all personnel-related issues and processes within the thyssenkrupp Steel network. Our services stand for reliability, efficiency, and high service quality.

Areas of expertise:

  • Payroll accounting
  • Company pension scheme
  • Operational HR work (new hires, departures, references, leave of absence)
  • Recruiting & learning
  • HR reporting
  • Content management
  • SAP and Workday services
  • IT support for the Executive Board

Goal: We offer centralized, standardized, and automated HR services that are scalable, transparent, and customer-oriented.

FI department

With around 85 employees, the FI department is responsible for the financial services portfolio within the Shared Service Center. A monthly invoice volume of around €800 million is processed securely and efficiently.

Areas of responsibility:

  • Invoice processing and verification
  • Accounts receivable and accounts payable management
  • Master data maintenance
  • Controlling
  • Purchasing of materials and services
  • Sales tax processing
  • Payment transactions (automated & manual)
  • Intercompany billing
  • Supplier control

Goal: We create process efficiency, data transparency, and compliance – as the backbone of financial management within the Steel Group.
