And with the special skills you will learn in your apprenticeship, you will support our external and internal business processes.

What do you need? Definitely a talent for organization and an understanding of the administrative matters you will learn about during your apprenticeship. In blocks of lessons lasting several weeks each at vocational college and in classes at the company you will gain theoretical insights that you can then implement in practice in department assignments.

IT specialist in application development

Your job

Software systems, program development, interface concepts... Company- and customer-specific software and hardware solutions ensure processes run smoothly in a modern company.

IT specialists realize function-specific requirements in complex hard- and software systems. They analyze, plan and realize IT and telecommunications systems.

They implement new and modifying IT and telecommunications systems. They also advise and train users.

Typical areas of activity in application development include commercial systems in materials, production and distribution management, sales/logistics, accounting, HR and technical systems.

Warehouse logistics specialist

Your job

Steel is a material for the future. That’s why it’s essential to ensure that thyssenkrupp Steel’s production operations are properly supplied with consumables and spare parts.

Providing the right amount of everything in the right place and at the right time – it wouldn’t be possible without logistics. It takes ideas and drive. Warehouse logistics specialists store raw/processed materials and spare parts, and prepare them for shipment, sale or processing. Materials can be stored manually on shelves or pallets or in automated high-bay systems, on the floor, in containers or barrels.

Warehouse logistics specialists know exactly what to do when it comes to the storage of perishable goods, how to handle fragile items or hazardous substances and how to prepare explosive materials for transportation. They accept goods, inspect them and put them in the right places using e.g. forklift trucks. Thanks to IT support they also always maintain an overview of everything. For outgoing goods they plan delivery routes, prepare and edit shipping and other documents, calculate packaging costs and assemble loading units.

Safety and security specialist

Your job

Security basics, traffic services, ID checks, gate duty, reception, visitor management, weighing service, security technology. All these areas are handled by the plant security service to ensure that work at the site runs smoothly.

The plant security service works as a TEAM to protect others. Our plant security service is like the mechanism of a clock in which all the cogs fit together correctly to ensure that everything works properly. We are the first point of contact for everyone who wishes to enter our plant and we check again when they leave. We also monitor stationary and moving traffic on our plant site and ensure that the road traffic regulations are observed because safety is our top priority. We are there for you around the clock in the event of theft, critical situations or hazards. We clarify any queries on site and always work to de-escalate situations. It’s our job to ensure better security at thyssenkrupp!

Industrial clerks work at companies of a variety of sizes and in a range of sectors. Their commercial and business activities cover all functions within a company. They support all processes from acquisition to customer service once orders have been realized.

The activities industrial clerks perform require them to work in a business process-oriented way. Industrial clerks identify business issues and maintain an overview of workflows to assess customer-focused solutions to problems and their consequences for other functional units.

A comprehensive understanding of business basics and a good command of modern information and communication technology are required to perform the tasks.

You also need an entrepreneurial mindset, good powers of deduction, strong communication and collaboration skills, flexibility, concentration, precision, a strong sense of responsibility and an employee-/customer-focused attitude.

IT administration clerks analyze commercial business processes with a view to optimizing them through IT and telecommunications systems. They support the translation of company- or unit-specific business processes into IT solutions.

IT administration clerks are familiar with commercial business processes and the opportunities and limits of IT systems. They provide advice on ways to use applications and act as the point of contact for manufacturers and suppliers in the specialist departments and operating facilities. They are responsible for the coordination and administration of IT systems through to networks. They also support users and conduct training.

Office administration clerks are employed in virtually all sectors and fields of industry. They are the experts for all administrative and organizational tasks. In purchasing, sales, controlling, accounting and secretarial offices they work with state-of-the-art IT support to prepare business correspondence, presentations and statistics, procure our materials, organize events and manage a wide variety of office and business processes.

Office administration clerks ensure stable and efficient processes in the office through their commercial expertise. Shipping and logistics services clerk

Your job

Steel is a material for the future. This material is transported to our customers just in time thanks to a sophisticated logistics system – on the water, on land and in the air.

Among other things, shipping and logistics services clerks are responsible for the organization of goods shipments and the transshipment and storage of goods. They manage and monitor the interaction of people and equipment involved in the logistics chain. To ensure everything runs smoothly they select appropriate routes and means of transport, prepare schedules and complete formalities.

Shipping and logistics services clerks advise and support customers, prepare offers and contracts, and ensure appropriate insurance cover. They also act as the point of contact for customer complaints, and the reporting and settlement of claims. They correspond and communicate with international business partners in English and are familiar with customs and foreign trade regulations.
