Policies that make steel more green
Sandra Reus at the climate table
thyssenkrupp Steel Europe's climate strategy has a clear goal: to drastically reduce CO₂ emissions and produce climate-neutral steel by 2045. One of the driving forces behind this is Sandra Reus, Head of Climate Policy. With her expertise, she analyzes legislative initiatives and their impact on the company - and thus helps shape the green transformation.
For Sandra, climate policy is far more than just a job and the opportunity to work directly at the pulse of developments and help shape change inspires her every day.

“It's about competence, not gender”
Dr. Alexandra Hirsch
Steel production is a male domain? That was once the case! Women are still underrepresented in technical fields, but many prove the opposite every day - including Dr. Alexandra Hirsch.
As Team Coordinator for Ore and Iron Technology at thyssenkrupp Steel, she ensures that the right materials end up in the steelmaking furnace. In the laboratory, her team tests how these materials react under extreme conditions.
