With this training-integrated dual study program, we offer you the opportunity to combine an apprenticeship with a degree course. We offer various technical apprenticeships for which you can apply. During your apprenticeship, you will be supervised by experienced mentors and can work on exciting projects. Develop not only your technical skills, but also important soft skills such as teamwork and project management. All of this is topped with our accompanying program.

Ready to study alongside your apprenticeship? Then apply for the Young Potential Program! Depending on your apprenticeship, you can choose between various Bachelor's degree courses, e.g. electrical engineering and mechanical engineering.
You can study part-time at the FOM (University of Applied Sciences for Economics and Management) or at the Georg Agricola University of Applied Sciences in Bochum - in the evenings and at weekends. You will graduate with a Bachelor of Science or Bachelor of Engineering.

Review of the application documents
Sit back and relax: You will receive an immediate confirmation of submission and, shortly afterwards, specific feedback from us on the next steps. This includes a recruitment test lasting around two hours, which you can easily complete from home.
The interview
Before the actual interview, you will take another short test to show that you have actually completed the recruitment test at home. In the subsequent interview with the department and co-determination, we can get to know each other and answer any open questions.
A warm welcome
Was the interview successful? Great - you will receive a confirmation of employment and an invitation to the pre-employment health check. We will then send you your employment contract. Once you have successfully completed these stages, you can now start your dual study program!

Which degrees are available?
Depending on your apprenticeship, you can choose between various Bachelor's degree courses, e.g. electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. In doing so, we promote the degree courses in line with demand. This means that we regularly analyze the areas in which young talent is needed.
When do I have to apply?
If you want to win the race for the desired apprenticeships, you should start early. After all, an application process takes time. That's why you should apply nine months before you leave school. You can see which of our vacancies are available in our job advertisements for apprenticeships. Important: Allow enough time to carefully prepare your application documents. This can take a few weeks.
You can apply for the Young Potential program itself approx. 6 months after the start of your apprenticeship. The relevant job ad will then be published.
What requirements should I meet in order to participate in the Young Potential Program?
You are characterized by a high level of commitment and motivation that will enable you to successfully pursue an academic career alongside your career - despite the double burden this entails. With a "allgemeinen Hochschulreife" or "Fachhochschulreife" and above-average grades in the subjects relevant to your degree course, you also have the ideal qualifications. Your strong technical interest and your pronounced affinity for steel as a material are particularly noteworthy. Your profile is completed by your exceptional commitment and high degree of flexibility in terms of time.
