Wilfried von Rath has been CHRO and Labor Director at thyssenkrupp AG, Essen, since April 1, 2025. In addition, he will also head the Human Resources department at thyssenkrupp Steel as Labor Director and Chief Human Resources Officer from November 1, 2025.
He is also responsible for Legal & Compliance and Safety & Security.
Before joining thyssenkrupp, Wilfried von Rath worked for the management consultancy Lynius GmbH in Munich from 2022 to 2025, becoming managing partner in April 2023. Prior to that, he was a member of the Executive Board for Human Resources at Volkswagen AG, Wolfsburg, from 2020 to 2022, and Chief Human Resources Officer and Labor Director at MAN Energy Solutions SE, Augsburg, from 2013 to 2020. Before that, von Rath held various positions at Volkswagen AG. He started his professional career as a consulting manager in Human Resources at Lufthansa Consulting GmbH/Deutsche Lufthansa AG, Cologne.
Wilfried von Rath, born in 1964, holds a degree in psychology with a focus on psychology/industrial and organizational psychology from Ruhr University Bochum and an Executive MBA from Ashridge Management College, Berkhamsted (UK).
