Change in the Executive Board of thyssenkrupp Rasselstein GmbH: Clarissa Odewald becomes Chief Sales Officer and Chairwoman of the Executive Board
- Clarissa Odewald appointed by the Supervisory Board of thyssenkrupp Rasselstein GmbH with effect from July 1, 2024
- She is taking over from Dr. Peter Biele, who is moving to HKM (Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann GmbH)

The Supervisory Board of thyssenkrupp Rasselstein GmbH has appointed Clarissa Odewald as Chief Sales Officer and Chairwoman of the Executive Board of Germany's only tinplate manufacturer with effect from July 1, 2024. She takes over from Dr. Peter Biele, who is moving to the management of HKM (Hüttenwerke Krupp Mannesmann GmbH) in Duisburg.
With Clarissa Odewald, an experienced steel expert takes over

In her previous position as Vice President Sales Overseas, Clarissa Odewald has been familiar with the packaging steel business for many years. Before taking over the position in Andernach, she held various positions in Purchasing and Sales at thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG in Duisburg since 2007. She was responsible for the procurement of raw materials and overseas logistics and was in charge of sales steering for the entire business segment Steel. Thanks to her diverse experience, Clarissa Odewald has broad expertise on the strategy, customer and market side and stands for continuity in corporate management.
Dr. Peter Biele takes over management of HKM
After eight successful years at Rasselstein, Peter Biele was asked to take over the management of HKM, where thyssenkrupp Steel holds a 50 percent stake. ”Peter Biele is taking on an area of responsibility with major challenges for which he has exactly the right knowledge and experience. He has led Rasselstein very successfully, developed it strategically and positioned it for the future,” says Bernhard Osburg, Chairman of the Executive Board of thyssenkrupp Steel Europe AG.
