Designing markets of the future
In partnership with our customers, thyssenkrupp Rasselstein intensively supports the further development and image of packaging steel. Our objective is to protect our markets and to further develop them for the future. A range of customized communication efforts gives impetus to the packaging market and supports the successful sales of tinplate products.
Pooling expertise for rasselstein® excellence
In 2000, we and our customers launched the communication platform „Initiative Lebensmitteldose“ (the food can initiative). By cooperating with similar initiatives in other European countries, an international alignment of activities is guaranteed. We work together to improve the image of the food can in order to develop a positive market development. Our goal is to deepen the consumer's knowledge about food cans and to inform about the variety and quality of canned food.
Communication platforms for promoting packaging steel
The challenges of the packaging market require an efficient dovetailing of common interests. The goal is to support the development of the tinplate market through strategic alliances at both political and commercial levels. thyssenkrupp Rasselstein is actively involved in Europe’s leading association of the packaging steel industry. You will find further information about this at the website of APEAL.
Together with our partners, we use the communication platforms MPE, EMPAC, BCME and VMV to strengthen the voice of the metal packaging industry. Further information on the topics of metal packaging, recycling and environmental protection can be found on the websites listed on the right side.
Living product stewardship
At thyssenkrupp Rasselstein product responsibility plays an important role. It is our aim to prevent interventions in the market and to publicize the environmental aspects of tinplate. Moreover, we actively promote the set-up and further development of recycling systems at the national and international level. Rasselstein is an active member of the executive board of the Arbeitsgemeinschaft Verpackung und Umwelt (AGVU) e.V. (consortium for packaging and environment). Together with other members from the industry, we represent our political interests in Berlin and at the regional level. You can learn more about this by visiting the AGVU website.
