thyssenkrupp Steel at CWIEME 2025: Innovations for a sustainable energy and mobility future
- CO2-reduced innovations for energy and mobility: At CWIEME 2025, thyssenkrupp Electrical Steel will be presenting bluemint® powercore®, a grain-oriented electrical steel that contributes to the decarbonization of energy and drive systems through CO2-reduced production, from June 3 to 5, 2025 in Hall 25, booth D24.
- Technological progress for e-mobility: The use of bluemint® GOES in axial flux motors increases the efficiency and sustainability of electric drives – a significant step towards the next generation of electromobility.
- Impetus for green grid infrastructures: With products for modern energy transmission and distribution, such as bluemint® powercore®, thyssenkrupp makes an active contribution to the decarbonization of the grid infrastructure and at the same time enables maximum energy efficiency.
Duisburg, June 2, 2025 – Starting tomorrow, thyssenkrupp Steel will be presenting pioneering solutions for the energy and mobility transition under the powercore® brand at this year's CWIEME Berlin until June 5, 2025 in Hall 25, Stand D24. The focus is on CO2-reduced materials, innovative applications in transformers and electric motors as well as new impetus for the decarbonization of the energy infrastructure.
Efficiency meets sustainability: bluemint® powercore® for green grids and drives
As Europe's leading manufacturer of grain-oriented electrical steel (GOES), thyssenkrupp Electrical Steel, a subsidiary of thyssenkrupp Steel, is presenting its latest developments in the field of CO2-reduced steels. With bluemint® powercore®, the company offers an electrical steel that impresses with a CO2 intensity reduction of up to 50% in production – without compromising on magnetic properties.
“Our products are the backbone of modern energy transmission and distribution. With bluemint® powercore®, we are actively contributing to the decarbonization of the grid infrastructure and at the same time enabling maximum energy efficiency,” explains Marcel Hilgers, Vice President Customers, Markets & Technology at thyssenkrupp Electrical Steel. “Together with partners from the transformer and grid operator industry, we are working to establish a green lead market for CO2-reduced steel.”
Technological progress for e-mobility: Axial flux motors with bluemint® GOES
Another highlight at the trade fair is the application of bluemint® GOES in axial flux motors – a key technology for the next generation of electric drives. These motors are characterized by their high power and torque density and benefit significantly from the excellent magnetic properties of the grain-oriented electrical steel.
"By using bluemint® GOES in axial flux motors, we not only increase the efficiency and performance of the drives, but also significantly reduce their carbon footprint," emphasizes Dr. Mustafa-Seçkin Aydin, Key Account Manager at thyssenkrupp Electrical Steel. "This innovation is an important step towards sustainable and high-performance electromobility."
powercore® – The heart of the energy transition
The powercore® brand products presented at CWIEME are essential for the manufacture of energy-efficient transformers, generators and electric motors. Whether in distribution or power transformers, in stators or in e-mobility – the grain-oriented electrical steel from thyssenkrupp ensures reliable energy transmission with minimal remagnetization losses worldwide.
CWIEME Berlin – a driving force for the industry
CWIEME Berlin is the leading trade fair for coil winding, electric motors and transformer production. For thyssenkrupp Electrical Steel, it is a central platform for presenting innovations, intensifying dialog with customers and partners and working together on solutions for a climate-neutral future.
"The energy transition is a global challenge – and our electrical steel is a global solution component," says Marcel Hilgers. "We are actively shaping the transformation with our products and our expertise."
